Zyanya Garcia, Staff Writer

Zyanya Garcia is a first year journalism student. She enjoys reading, listening to music, and spending time with her friends and younger siblings. While she doesn’t like to speak much, Garcia loves to put her thoughts on paper and finds various opportunities to do so by being a part of Buena Speaks. She hopes to find a career where she could continue to write, but also aspires to be like the teachers that inspired her to do so. Even during these trying times, Garcia looks forward to the many learning opportunities and chances to grow during this school year.

Junior Ebony Delgado signed up to take Clothing 1 her junior year, and she has not regretted a second of it. With her tenacious character, she has begun to embrace her newfound passion. “[Ebony] carries herself very well, she’s mature, she seems very comfortable being her own person. You don’t find that a whole lot in high school,” clothing teacher Teresa Hayes said.

With the introduction of Omicron into the US, there has been an exponential increase in coronavirus cases, including here at Buena.
