Have you checked your latest phone notification? Actor Asher Angel and actress Paris Berelc starred in their first romantic comedy together, and they entered with a bang! As teens look for a new exciting movie to watch with their significant others and friends, “Kissing is the Easiest Part” was officially released on Feb. 13, 2026. These two hot-shot characters have caught many eyes when they hit the big screen and release all emotions when viewers are watching this plot twisting, heart throbbing movie.
“I would say my controversial opinion is that love never goes away…The rom-com actually never dies. It is a guilty pleasure, even when it’s not popular or trending. We watch it in private. We watch it on planes. We watch rom-coms because they make us feel good. And quite honestly, whether it’s cool or not, whether it’s on trend or not, you’re always craving love,” director Fawzia Mirza said in an interview with CBS.
The movie starts off with Flora Moragan (Paris Berelc) living the rich life every teen dreams of, blasting music on a sunny day driving her convertible to school. The camera pans over to Sean Foster (Asher Angel), who is your stereotypical “nerd”, helping with computers during the talent show. These two characters are polar opposites, but throughout the movie they find a soft spot for each other. Flora’s main focus is partying, so she is struggling in school. Sean meets her parents who bribe him to teach their daughter that school is a priority. They start off as platonic friends, but sure enough, love starts to float around the text book.
If I am going to be honest, I have watched this movie about five times in just less than a month. With that being said, you can tell it caught not only my attention but had a hold on my heart. It had a lot of relevance to today’s time period, as there are different “groups” of people and some are liked, others aren’t, and no one can actually be their own person. This movie brings life to that by showing us that even if you are friends with the smarter kids it benefits you in the long run, by getting away from the negative kids who are more worried about what they look like.
