At first glance, junior Dominick Sharif is someone who does it all, from running track and field, to singing in musical theater, to teaching karate and even starting a singing career. However, it becomes clear that everything he pursues is tied together by something deeper: discipline, passion and a clear vision for his future.
With a long list of hobbies ranging from going to the gym to making music in his homemade recording studio, Sharif shows a balance

between personal growth, creativity and connection.
Sharif’s dedication to physical discipline began early. He trained in karate to build strength and self-defense skills, but over time, it became much more than that. Now an adult black belt and a high-ranking instructor at his studio, Sharif has transitioned from student to leader, guiding others while continuing to sharpen his own abilities.
The same natural drive carried over into scholastic athletics. Sharif competed in track and field for three years, earning “Rookie of the Year” as a freshman and posting impressive times: 11.92 seconds in the 100-meter dash and 25.72 in the 200 meter.
Despite his success in sports, Sharif’s strongest passion has always been music, which stays a constant presence in his life.
“I love singing in general because it’s fun to do,” Sharif said. “Since I could walk and talk, I’ve wanted to become a singer…some days I listen to music from when I wake up to when I go to sleep.”
That passion eventually led him to the stage. Though initially hesitant to join theater, Sharif’s talent became impossible to ignore. Featured on Buena’s “Not-So-Silent Night” albums every year, he delivered a powerful performance of “O Holy Night” at the Not-So-Silent night concert. Earning a standing ovation and recognition from teachers and peers, he was encouraged to join the drama program.
“I said no,” Sharif said. “But then [this year] I decided I was going to do it because I liked Frozen, and I [really] wanted to be a character.” That decision paid off as he ended up landing the lead role of Hans in “Frozen: The Musical”, marking a major step in his performing career.
Behind all of his achievements is a strong foundation of motivation and support.
“My parents [always] inspire me to work hard,” Sharif said.
Their influence is reflected in his mindset and work ethic across everything he does.
Looking ahead, Sharif’s goals are ambitious but clear. He wishes to become a famous musician, singing, making music, performing and even getting into acting. It is a vision that combines all sides of who he is, from athlete, to performer, disciplined student and creative artist.
Whether he’s sprinting down the track, leading a karate class, or standing under the stage lights, Dominick Sharif continues to push forward, guided by passion, grounded in discipline, and driven by a dream that shows no sign of slowing down.
