For the past two years, the Los Angeles Dodgers have been dominating Major League Baseball (MLB). Whether people like it or not, the last two World Series Champions have been the Dodgers, and, yet again, it’s looking like they have a strong chance to win it again this season.
In the 2025 season, the Dodgers finished with 93 wins and 69 loses, securing first place in the National League (NL). However, their record was not good enough to get a first round bye, which means the team would have to skip the first round and go straight to the second round.
After playing in the Wild Card, the National League Division Series and National League Championship Series, the Dodgers went to the World Series and won the four games they needed to win after all seven games and they may have lost three, but they won game seven against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Dodgers were able to stay strong throughout the very long playoff, having to play in the Wild Card all the way through to the World Series.
Coming off their World Series win, during free agency, the Dodgers were able to make some big moves adding some key players to the team. The big ones being right fielder Kyle Tucker and closing pitcher Edwin Diaz.
“According to the Major League Baseball Players’ Association, outfielder Michael Conforto, utility players Enrique Hernandez and Miguel Rojas, and pitchers Kirby Yates, Michael Kopech, and Clayton Kershaw, are all free agents after the season ends,” Sports Illustrated report said.
I think with the addition of these new players, the Dodgers will be able to have another very successful season.
“I think they will have 100 wins because they put together a great lineup. All the players have amazing talent,” freshman and Dodgers fan Blake Studebaker said.
The Dodgers lineup is just good all around. There is not a weak link in their starting nine. Given this, I think that the Dodgers will be able to win 100 games and make a deep run in the playoffs and maybe even win another World Series. From a Dodgers point of view, of course, I hope they will win back-to-back-to-back World Series. However, they have to get through a grueling long season to get this opportunity.
“Even though I am not a fan, I think they will have a good record because they have a stacked lineup from top to bottom, they hit really well [and] they have a lot of really good pitchers,” freshman and New York Yankee fan Carter Borman said.
The Dodgers have some of the best starting pitching in the league with pitchers like Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow and Shohei Ohtani. And with the signing of closer Edwin Diaz, the Dodgers finally have a set piece to close out their games.
Don’t even get me started on how deep the lineup is. They have Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Shohei Ohtani, Max Muncy, Kyle Tucker, Teoscar Hernández and more.
There are many opinions going around the league about the Dodgers. Some think they are going to three-peat while some hope they don’t even make the playoffs. No matter what anyone thinks, the Dodgers have a great lineup. As long as injuries don’t hold them back, I know they will make another great playoff run.
