MLB’s 2026 spring training has begun, showing off all of the teams’ newly acquired athletes. I think the best part of spring training games are seeing all of the new players that teams have acquired over the off-season.
Some of the biggest and well known trades from the 2025/2026 off-season include pitcher Edwin Diaz moving to the Los Angeles Dodgers, right fielder Kyle Tucker signed with the Dodgers, outfielder Andrew McCutchen traded to the Texas Rangers, second and third baseman Bo Bichette on the New York Mets, outfielder Starling Marte moved to the Kansas City Royals and outfielder Michael Conforto traded by the Dodgers and is now playing for the Chicago Cubs. `
“I think it will be interesting to see how all the different teams do better or worse than last year and who makes it to the playoffs,” freshman and sports enthusiast Hunter Walton said.
The team that most people are rooting for is the Los Angeles Dodgers so they can win their third consecutive World Series title. It isn’t a bad prediction for their well-known roster consisting of some of the best and most well known players of today’s era.
However, a well known rival, the San Francisco Giants, have a 13-1 record outperforming any other team in the league right now. They also were undefeated at one point along with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Washington Nationals.
Also, with the upcoming season only being a short amount of time away and having everyone excited to see their teams play for the first time in a while.
I think that this spring training is leading up to be one of the best and most memorable seasons we’ve seen in a while. Not only because of the trades, and the opportunity for the Dodgers to win a third consecutive world series title, but because more people are drawn to the sport with the help of the World Baseball Classic, a tournament made to showcase.
