Oct. 7, stands were filled for Buena’s girl’s varsity volleyball senior night and the last regular-season home game. The first serve of the game came from senior Breanna Griffin. She hit an ace for their first point of the night. Senior Buena libero Jessie Gomez served in the middle of the court, which put the Bulldogs ahead 5-1.

With Buena dominating, this did not allow Pacifica to pass the ball back, making the score 11-3. At this point, Buena called time out. Senior Abriella Kiel took the last serves for the first set. Kiel successfully got Buena to take the first set with an ending score of 25-22.

The second set started with Pacifica taking the first serve. After Pacifica made the first point, the team started to gain momentum. Pacifica had a leading streak of serves until Buena was able to catch back up to them, with Kiel able to get Buena back in the lead. Then, senior Ella Haas came in to finish off the second set scoring the final point leaving Buena 25-15

“I think we’re doing really great and I’m really excited to see my teammates succeed,” Ella Haas said. “I’m excited to cheer them on.”

Soon enough the third set began. The first serve came from Hass, who got ahead 7-5 until the Bulldogs fought back with 18 points.  A quick save from Gomez got the ball to the other side of the net, getting the Bulldogs to.

Haas again won the final point for the Bulldogs at the end of the set to win 25-13. Buena beat Pacifica 3-0 in their last seasonal regular home game, leaving the girls proud to have worked hard, and cheering for each other

“Tonight’s game was one to remember,” sophomore Shai Daniels said.
