The highly anticipated NFL Awards is an event where the best NFL teams and individual players of the season are presented with an award, recognizing their achievements. These awards can either be the most valuable player award, most valuable offense or most valuable defensive player. There are many awards, but let’s talk about what I think the awards will look like for the 2025-2026 NFL season.
Drake May is one of the top favorites for the MVP, but I think that Matthew Stafford should win it instead. Stafford has better stats in every aspect of the game, besides his pass completion percentage. Stafford has a record of 4,707 yards and 46 touchdowns and only eight interceptions. However, Maye only threw for 4,394 yards, 31 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. I feel that having that good of stats deserves the MVP award.
“I think that offensive player of the year should go to Jaxon Smith Njigba (JSN),” Moffeta said.
I personally agree with this. I think that JSN 100% deserves the offensive player of the year. He led the league in receiving yards after their number one receiver DK Metcalf was traded aw
ay to the Pittsburgh Steelers before the season started. For his first year, being the number one receiver, and with his new starting quarterback (QB) Sam Donald, I think JSN going through that change is very successful and well deserving of the award because of the challenges he had to go through to produce the crazy stats he did.
“I think that Myles Garrett will win the defensive player of the year… since he broke the record for most sacks in a season,” Moffeta said.
I totally agree with this. Miles Garrett is, in my opinion, the most deserving player of the defensive player of the year award. He broke the all-time NFL history sack record. He set the new record to 23 sacks in a single season. This record was previously held by Michael Strahan set in 2001, and T.J. Watt also tied Michael for the same record in 2021. When you’re putting up numbers that make you one of the greatest of all time, you should definitely win the award.
I think that rookie of the Carolina Panthers Tetairoa (Tet) MacMillan has a great chance to win offensive rookie of the year because he had 1,014 yards, 70 receptions and seven touchdowns. With a rookie putting up those numbers, his team only went 5-12. This year, they went 9-8 with the 9 wins getting them into the playoffs. That’s a very good turn around with MacMillan’s help and effort he put into the season.
There are many awards in the NFL, but who will win? If you want to see who wins them, the announcements will be held at the annual NFL Honors ceremony on Feb. 5, 2026.
