Feb. 8, 2026, the 2025-2026 NFL season officially concluded with Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Anticipating fans saw the Seattle Seahawks vs. the New England Patriots end the game with the final score of 29-13. The Seahawks defeated the Patriots and came out on top, marking their second consecutive title in a defensive heavy game.
With performances from Green Day and headliner, Bad Bunny, this year’s Super Bowl was one that is truly memorable.
REGULAR SEASON
The Seahawks’ season went extremely well, going 17-3; a new active record. Their standings secured them first place in the National Football Conference (NFC) West and held the number one seed for playoffs. Their quarterback, Sam Darnold, led them through their best regular-season record in franchise history. Their most notable games included a 41-6 win over the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round and a close 31-27 victory over the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship.
The Patriots’ season had also been fairly successful, resulting in being 17-4 including the post season. Although they had an easy route in the season and AFC’s, their sophomore quarterback, Drake Maye, really stole the show. Maye, only 23-years-old, has been in the NFL for two seasons, and led the Patriots to the Super Bowl and was second place in MVP voting by overall throwing 4,394 yards and 31 touchdowns. He led the league in many aspects, yet had a 71.5% completion percentage and a 111.9 passer rating which is exceedingly high for being so young in the NFL.
HIGHLIGHTS
Darnolds’ resurrected career had bloomed one of the most impressive redemption arcs seen in football, earning the Lombardi Trophy and praise from fans. He had many great moments in the game, throwing a 16-yard touchdown pass to tight end AJ Barner and a 23-yard pass to wide receiver Cooper Kupp.

“It’s unbelievable, you know, just everything that’s happened in my career, but to do it with this team, I wouldn’t want it any other way. …Our defense, I can’t say enough great things about our defense, our special teams.”” Darnold said in an on-field interview for Columbia Broadcasting System News. “
The Seahawk’s defense deserves every great thing said. Their demeaning “Dark Side” had appeared and sacked Patriots’ quarterback Drake Maye six times. They held the Patriots in their place for the entirety of the game, leaving such an easy victory for the Seahawks.
As well as the Seahawks’ kicker, Jason Myers, had set the record for most completed field goals in the Super Bowl, scoring five.
All points that were scored up until the fourth quarter were field goals, set up strategically by both defenses and running back Kenneth Walker III, who was deemed game MVP. Walker had the most yards for a running back in the Superbowl with 135, setting yet another record.
MUSIC PERFORMANCES
Green Day had promptly opened the Super Bowl, kicking off with their pop-punk energy, performing a trio of songs from their 2004 album, “American Idiot”. Lead vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong had been singing before he made an explicit political statement on stage, yet was stopped short and let the song speak for itself.

When Bad Bunny was announced to headline the Super Bowl on Sep. 28, 2025, many people were so divided with the decision. He was the first Puerto Rican artist to headline the half time show which created much backlash, even from our President. Stating it as an “affront to the Greatness of America”.
During the performance, he made strong mentions about the United States and America. While being trailed by dancers, flags of nations were held high, with the American flag leading. Following, he listed more than 20 nations in North, Central and South America, while having a strong message displayed on a football for viewers to see: “The only thing more powerful than hate is love”.

Super Bowl LX was the peak of the Seattle Seahawks careers, giving them their second title and abundances of self-confidence.“We believe in each other, we love each other, and now we’re world champions,” Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said in an article from CBS News.
