On Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026, the Bulldogs finished the season strong with their first win at 3-2. Bringing in a W made the win sweeter as the seniors celebrated their final game, and Senior Night.
The win was against the San Marcos Royals, which the boys varsity team had previously lost to within seconds till the game ended making it a well deserved redemption win.
The Senior Class of 2026 included midfielder Alex Vasquez (#7), forward Zander Sanchez (#9), midfielder Chase Strople (#10), forward Tyler Jaitt (#11), defender Adrian Esquivel (#12), goal keeper Keilan Perciando ( #13) and forward Jake Alamillio (#21).
The beginning of the last game for these super stars, started at 6:45 with the Royals starting with the ball. Within the first minutes of the half, Jaitt scored, bringing an amazing start to the game. Following an unfortunate failed attempt by central defensive midfielder Raul Vanover.
Following the goal, Buena’s midfielder Ethan Roque scored again with an assist from Jaitt. After the epic goal, Jaitt attempted to score again but failed after he hurdled over a fallen Royals player. This made for quite the exhilarating scene as the first half came to an end.
Nearing the end of half time, the Bulldogs huddled one last time before the second half started, going in with high hopes and spirit to the second half.

Coach Alfonso Rodriguez talked positively about the culture that the team has encouraged when reflecting on the season.
“They spent a lot of time, you know, cracking jokes, messing around, and creating a culture that’s very fun, competitive. They brought that energy…We’re bringing a new, positive Bulldog mentality,” Rodriguez said.
Starting off the second half fiery due to a disagreement between Jaitt and the referee, Jaitt found himself with two yellow cards and a trip to the bench. After this interaction, the Royals scored two goals.
After the penalty, Jaitt assisted Roque to another Buena goal.
As the game started to come to an end with five minutes left, all of the senior Bulldogs were subbed out for lower classmen to give the varsity players an opportunity to watch what they will leave behind at Buena, to see the team that they have worked and bonded with“I’m excited that we just got our first win; I’m happy,” Jaitt said.
